This wine is a Merlot predominant blend that has about 20% Cabernet Sauvignon in it - enough to add structure and a firm tannic finish without being overpowering. It is a lovely bright ruby red wine with complex red fruit flavours from the nose to the finish. This wine has undergone traditional temperature controlled Bordeaux vinification and then 80% of the blend is aged in French oak barrels for up to twelve months. The other 20% is left in stainless steel vats and is added just prior to bottling to add a fruit driven component.
